Bus facility is being provided by the college at concessional rates from various places like Kurmanapalem, Malkapuram, Jagadamba, thatichetlapalem and Penduthi. This will reduce the time of travel and the haggle of waiting in Bus Stops for R.T.C Buses.
To ensure convenience in travelling for its students and faculty, Sanketika Vidya Parishad Engineering college has constituted a Transport Committee. It performs the following functions:
- To recommend management for additional transport facilities.
- To Review the operation of vehicle in all routes.
- To Review the maintenance of transport vehicles and works related to the RTO office.
- Display the list of students and faculty in concerned routes.
- Stays connected with drivers / bus-in-charges during journey time and assists in trouble shooting or in case of vehicle break-down, arranges relief/ spare vehicles.
- Scrutinizes and processes Diesel/ Petrol bills, Vehicle repair, maintenance bills.
- One staff member from each bus is designated as Bus-in-charge. They are responsible for overall discipline and conduct of students in the Bus.
- To monitor discipline among the students inside the bus through Bus-in-charges.
- To arrange the transport for the students and staff for any educational tour and sports competitions.
- To maintain the records of the Study Visits/ Educational Trips conducted.
- To regulates drivers in different bus routes.
- Facilities
For the security and added comfort, Transportation Committee has been constituted to provide buses for the transportation of our students and Staff. The routes and pickup points are clearly laid out, and you are requested to follow the timings set for the pickup. In addition to the transportation provided by us, RTC buses from all corners of the city ply to our college, since we are located at the center of the city. The students can choose their preferable mode of transportation.
- To ensure safety and security of girl students on demand from the parents the institution is providing transport facility at competitive rates on no profit no loss basis.
- The college provides this facility for free to the staff.
- The college has employed qualified and experienced drivers and they can drive safely and defensively.
- Transport schedule is designed in such a way that buses will reach the campus 15 minutes before the commencement of academic work of the institution.
- Provide transportation facility to cover around 30 km radius both for students and staff.
- Speed limit has been setup to ensure safe travel of the students and staff.
- All safety guidelines of A.P government are being followed including installation of speed governors to limit the speed.
- Provided First AID box in every bus.
- Provided all buses with Fire extinguisher.
- Availing transport facilities is totally optional.
Roles and Responsibilities of Co-ordinator
- Establish college routes concentrating on student’s service.
- Set the time of starting of the buses from the originating points so as to ensure their arrival at college by 9:00A.M. Also ensures compliance of drivers with these requirements.
- Ensure to receive all phone calls from drivers any hour in day.
- Supervise the daily bus operation and giving instructions to the bus in-charges.
- Coordinate various bus routes regularly with the help of bus in-charges.
- Handles transport related complaints from students, parents of students, staff, and drivers and resolves issues.
- Review and arrange all transportation paperwork inclusive of driver logs, trip reports and invoices.
- Support management team to supervise transportation personnel.
- Ensure compliance to all security as well as operational procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities of faculty Members
- Ensure implementation day-to-day activities of transportation.
- Maintain and manage all databases relating to transportation activities.
- Ensure compliance of safety standards in transportation functions.
- Handle loading and unloading operations.
- Periodically checking the documents of the buses.
- In case of emergency and unexpected events Faculty member to inform management representative and take any prudent action as the situation demands.
Roles and Responsibilities of Transport In-Charge
- Receives requests/applications from students and staff for seats in college buses and allot routes on first cum-first served basis and issues bus passes.
- Ensure maintenance of vehicles in good running condition.
- Maintaining the documents.
- Manage, supervise and monitor bus operations.
- Inspect the condition of the buses and report for necessary action on a consistent basis.
- Responsible for periodical maintenance of all the buses and in case of any major repair should report to the Principal immediately.
